"Painting has gone very well. You have such a great group.
The doors look amazing."

– Dale and Karen B., White Rock, BC

When you have a property overlooking the beaches of White Rock and the Straight of Georgia, designing the perfect coastal home is a must. Taking a nod from Tommy Bahama, these owners wanted a fresh cool feel for their four-story cliff side home.

Warline’s in-house design and colour consultation team worked closely with the owners to put together a colour palette that blended West Coast charm and tropical paradise with the polished concrete floors. Upstairs, the walls were all painted in Benjamin Moore Manchester Tan (HC-81).

COLOUR SAMPLING

With so much natural light coming in, keeping the trim and ceilings simple with Benjamin Moore Cloud White (CC-40 / US967) made perfect sense. In the lower floors, this was complimented with doors painted out in Sherwin Williams Gray Area (SW 7052). Walls in the guest suite were painted in Benjamin Moore Vanilla Ice Cream (OC-90 / 2154-70) and Stratton Blue (HC-142) to further create the calm tropical feel of the home.

RICH STAINED WOOD

The owners chose beautiful wood windows throughout the home. This perfectly complimented the polished concrete floors and rustic wooden staircase. Warline was asked to stain all the upper level louvered doors. Our team chose Sansin’s line of low VOC stain to create the perfect finish. Doors were stained, toned and clear coated for a durable, lasting finish.

STUNNING COASTAL EXTERIOR

Warline recommended using Benjamin Moore’s line of Aura exterior paint in low lustre sheen. This not only brought out the beauty of the soft beachy blue colour Gray Wisp (CC-670 / US 1570) but also protect the siding exposure from the elements.

The trim was painted in Benjamin Moore Timid White (Oc-39 / 2148-60) to further compliment the wood windows and the cedar soffits throughout.

The house is a showcase on the bluff of White Rock. It’s a beautiful example of how to use colour to create a timeless home that is a beautiful to look at as the view from it.
