With a new baby sister on the way, it was time for big brother to transition from a nursery to a big boy bed and new bedroom. It also meant updating a nursery for a boy to one fit for a princess.
First order of business was working with Warline’s in-house colour consultant to choose colours for both bedrooms. Heidi suggested that this mom start with her bedding and then build a colour palette around the rooms.
For the boy’s bedroom the client chose a green and blue striped duvet from Serena and Lily. The goal was to keep the walls fresh and young but still neutral enough to work as likes changed from trains and airplanes to skate boards and music. Benjamin Moore Guilford Green (HC-116) was perfect.
We recommended using Benjamin Moore Natura which is a zero VOC paint and safe to use in a home with small children and a pregnant mom.
Moving into the nursery, the inspiration began with stunning silk taffetta drapes from Restoration Hardware in a rich chocolate brown with a teal blue tie back. Beautiful custom pillows and mercury glass lamps added colour and sparkle.
Wanting a rich cream colour for the walls the client chose Farrow & Ball’s White Tie in Modern Emulsion. For the ensuite, Farrow & Ball’s Oval Room Blue also in Modern Emulsion, perfectly complimented the couch and accessories in the nursery.
Mom was so happy she had us back to paint the master bedroom. Benjamin Moore Wythe Blue (HC-143) was a beautiful choice to cream a serene room for mom and dad to relax.
We loved helping this family create perfect bedrooms for them was a sweet dream for us too.
